This pair of Timberland PRO™ boots was purchased in 2003, has never been worn, and was stored in a recycled box.

Unfortunately, after two decades of proper storage in a dark, dry place with optimal humidity, the foam layer in the midsole cracked and, in some places, peeled off and crumbled.

The outer rubber outsole was then separated from the foam, and the foam itself was almost completely scraped off the upper Goodyear-welted midsole layer. You can see the stitching and some remaining foam residue, which was intentionally left to avoid damaging the stitches.

These boots feature brand-new uppers, as well as the original outsoles, but require a resole. This makes them a great option for those who want to add a VIBRAM® MONTAGNA BLOCK, VIBRAM® MONTAGNA FULL SOLE + BLOCK HEEL, VIBRAM® LOGGER HEEL, or any other VIBRAM® outsole.

Considering the current MSRP for this model is $145 (around $175 total with tax, shipping, etc.) on TIMBERLAND.COM/SHOP, the listed price of $90 is very reasonable. The difference ($175 - $90 = $85) can cover the cost of VIBRAM® outsoles and a cobbler's service, allowing you to get Timberland PRO™ work boots with custom VIBRAM® outsoles for roughly the original retail price.

The original pair of TIMBERLAND® PRO™ outsoles is brand-new and undamaged, as shown in the photos. This original pair can be used for the resole if VIBRAM® soles are out of budget or not desired.

Any competent cobbler can resole these boots relatively quickly using a suitable pair of soles. However, for maximum durability on work boots, a VIBRAM® MONTAGNA is highly recommend.
